‘Katu
Kurullo’ handles human emotions

‘Katu Kurullo’ portraying a tragic story which had its
roots in an extramarital relationship will be telecast at 9.30 pm
every Tuesday on Swarnavahini from December 23. Asela Tilakaratna
leaves Colombo to assume duties as a clerk in an up-country office.
He has only
his mother. Anushika lives with Mr. and Mrs. Peris. She had to live
with them because both her father and mother had left her sometime
back. Mr. Peris is the manager of the estate where Asela takes up
appointment. Asela meets Anushika on his first visit. Apart from
Mr. Vithanage and Nihal, Yvonne is the only lady working in the
estate office. Yvonne is pretty. Yvonne shows an interest in Asela
but she tries to hide it thinking of Shane who left her after giving
her a child. Knowing Anushika is related to his boss Asela looks
for a close link with Yvonne.
Though Yvonne
loved Asela, she discourages him. Because of this situation Asela
once again gets close to Anushika. Asela and Anushika marry with
the blessings of the elders. However she does not like to have a
baby because she was aware her mother committed suicide as her father
had an affair with another woman. The couple begins to have differences
which forces Asela towards Yvonne very much.
Meanwhile Anushika
gives birth to a child. The affair with Yvonne and Asela continues.
One day Anushika shows herself while Asela was making love to Yvonne
in her bedroom. Anushika commits suicide after seeing this incident.
Yvonne gets closer to Asela after her death and looks after the
baby Rosi.
While living
together Yvonne wishes to get a child for herself. Asela knows that
Yvonne cannot bear a child because he has undergone a LRT operation.
Yvonne had to tell the truth. This film is directed and scripted
by Gihan Rohana the miniplay is produced by Sunil Rathnayake.
