Stars of 70’s show back on the track
After a lapse of two years, the much loved musical solo “Stars of 70’s” will come alive on March 21 at the BMICH at 6.30 pm.

A.E. Manoharan, Rajiv Sebastian and Dalreen Suby will also be featured on this year’s show. The other stars will be Noel Ranasinghe and La Ceylonians, Indrani Perera of Three Sisters, Anil Bhareti, Priya Pieris of La-Bambas, Joe B. Perera of Meemesso, Errol Fernando of Los Cabeleros, Dharmaratne Brothers and Annesley Malawana of Moonstones. Annesley Malawana will present the show this year as usual.

Musical backing for all artistes will be provided by ‘Mahesh and Simple’. Channa Wijewardene’s troupe will provide the dance items. The M.C. for the evening will be Vijaya Corea.

‘I have made a few changes this time to give the show more variety. In addition to the stars of 70’s, I have brought in “Two stars of the 50’s as guest artistes for the show, namely Vincent De Paul Pieris of Siripade and Bicycale fame and Christopher Paul, who has many hits to his credit such as Haa-Mal Pipenne, and Ela Dola Ganga’ Annesley said.

The past Pupils Association of Dharmasoka College (Colombo Branch) is organising this event to collect funds in order to complete the on- going school projects. ‘To uplift the swimming pool to a proper training venue for the Ambalangoda population, to construct an Auditorium and to improve indoor sports facilities are the basic fund needed projects of the school’ organisers said.
