  • Thanasiva – the Provincial Ruler
    One day, the priest Maha-Tissa went to meet King Valagamba. He wanted to keep the king informed of the secret news he had got from the spies of Anuradhapura. The king was staying in the village of Matuvelanga.
  • A stupendous engineering feat
    The two aerial pictures of the mighty rock of Sigiriya give an idea of the vastness of the rock and the elaborate complex at the top of this massive structure 600 feet above the ground. This is not a sight one can admire from below.
  • A Dance Extravaganza
    ‘Dance Moves,’ a dance extravaganza performed at the Lionel Wendt on 8th and 9th May was a resounding success. Produced by Yoshita Abayasekara, the programme in which 52 students took part featured a variety of items covering different eras of dance.
  • Aloka Pooja at Tantirimale
    Tantirimale is a historic site, said to be close to the village founded by Upatissa, who accompanied Prince Vijaya when he landed at Tambapanni.
