‘Mama Nowei Mama’: An unusual film
The teleplay ‘Mama Nowei Mama’ (I am not Myself) deals with the story of two people who have changed their identities. The teledrama is being telecast every Saturday at 8.15 pm on ITN.

Nalan Mendis directs the play based on a script by Indika Ferdinando. M.N.M. is and produced by Sandhya Mendis for Susila Production. ‘Mama Nowei Mama’ stars by Jagath Chamila, Priya Ranasinghe, Sanath Wimalasiri, Lakshman Mendis, Manjula Kumari, Malani Weeramuni, Himali Sayurangi, Dayavera Edirisinghe, Anjula Rajapakse, Deeepani Silva, Santhus Gunawardena, Kusumi Perera and Gayani Liyanarachchi.

The miniplay is woven around Sithija, the eldest son of the prominent businessman, Harold’s wife Vishaka is a woman given to social service. Their daughter is Vyanga. Sithija, a fun loving young man is presented a car by his father on his twenty fourth birthday. Unfortunately he meets with an accident on the very birthday itself.

Following the accident Sithija’s father hires a driver for his son. Channa, the driver is a disciplined and thoughtful young man. While travelling in the car one day, Sithija comes out with a strange idea. He suggests that they change their identities and he would disguise himself as the driver while Channa should play the master.

This change of identities unknown to anyone is great fun for both of them. But one night they meet with a serious accident and the mixed roles cause lot of confusion and misunderstanding. Human emotions like love and jealousy are portrayed in the teledrama.
