Nalan brings out another hit
Another miniplay in the calibre of “Du Daruwo”, “Nedeyo”, “Sathpuravasiyo” and “Suriya Daruwo” will be brought to the miniscreen by Nalan Mendis in collaboration with Ceylinco Insurance.

“Vasanthaya Avilla” a novel teledrama that will hit the TV screens in this country via Swarnavahini starts Sunday, August 15 at 7:30pm, with Nalan Mendis, Sandhya Mendis and Edwin Peiris associated in making this venture a success. Woven around family issues the miniplay follows the footsteps of its predecessors.

“Vasanthaya Avilla”, revolves around an extremely wealthy gem merchant - Lakshman Swarnakundara and his family of three daughters and a son. The family is taken care of by Lankshman’s unmarried sister Awarna. The story takes a dramatic turn with the arrival of 24-year-old Priyanga.

The cast with some of those who played in the earlier directions comprise Yashodha Wimaladharma, Chathurika Peiris, HA Perera, Roshan Pilapitiya, Jagath Chamila, Nadeesha Hemamali, Indika Upamali, Naleen Pradeep Udawela, Malini Weeramuni and many other talented newcomers.

Rohana Weerasinghe provides the music while Chandana Arangala shows off his prowess behind the camera and Nilanga Bandara proves his skill as an editor. Ranjan Prashantha is assistant director of this quality production.
