Lagoon by the Beira
The city’s latest and most happening sea food sensation lagoon now open at the Colombo Plaza offers sea food enthusiasts the experience of a lifetime.

With a charming indoor/outdoor dining area overlooking an artificially created lagoon, the restaurant offers guests the opportunity to pick their own choice of produce fresh from the catch of the day, which will then be weighed and cooked to preference. The guest can pick from fresh oysters, prawns, crabs, fish scallops, mussels and much more.

The entrance to the Lagoon opens out into a bar and sea food counter with the ocean’s best laid out to choose from. The restaurant which cost an estimated Rs. 17 million to construct, boasts a sleek, modern ambiance with interior decor coloured in soulful shades of mustard and black. The Lagoon is the first open sea food market style restaurant in Colombo and has already received rave reviews for its innovative concepts and culinary styles.

“We have 150 ways to cook different types of sea food and the chefs will turn dishes out to the individual taste of the guest,” said General Manager, Rohan Karr .

Lagoon’s expert chefs spin dishes with Thai, Chinese, Indian, Continental and local flavours, perfectly spiced and fried, boiled, grilled or steamed according to personal taste. In addition to the sea food options available, Lagoon also offers its customers a range of other dishes including hot and cold starters, main, courses and desserts to choose from.
