‘Kedella Neha Unusum’: Deals with family squabbles

Kedella Nehe Unusum is a teleplay that depicts how minor misunderstandings between spouses lead to major break up of the family and how as a result society is affected.

Sahan and Duleeka are married. They have a two year old daughter. When Duleeka sees the secretary Nayani given a lift, the wife feels threatened and as she loves Sahan this gives her much pain. She decides to take the daughter and go back to her parental home.

Although Duleeka is estranged she decides that she must join Sahan after sometime Sahan confides in his good friend Navin. Navin too is married and his wife Angela has left him. Angela is a lustful wonan. When sometime ago Navin sent Sahan to his home to deliver a message Angela tried to seduce him. Sahan relates this incident to Navin.

Navin says all women are the same. Then Saliya says his wife Duleeka is not so. Sahan seeks Navin as his counsellor to solve his family problem. Navin is not a person to accept defeat. He remembers the incident and has estranged Duleeka even more without trying to bring about an amicable settlement.

Saliya keeps away from his job and his boss finds fault with him. Nayana comes home with some important documents for Sahan. Duleeka has come home on that date. When he sees Saliya and Nayani she assaults and scolds Sahan and leaves home.

With these developments many situations arise the answer for which war found in the film towards the end. Pradeep Senanayake, Nisansala Jayatunge, Buddika Jayaratne, Rebecca Nirmali, Indrajith Navinna, Safna Kareem and Sriyani Mahawatte are in the cast of Kedella Neha Unusum.

The script is by Sanath Samaranayake, Chaminda Gamini has handled the camera the miniplay is edited by Gatantha Sampath. Yapa Bandara Seneviratne has done the lyrics and Sanath Nandasiri has composed the music. Assisted by Joseph Jerome Perera, Titus Ranasinghe produced and directed the play.
