Four decades ago ...a band, rock n’roll and the Jets
Original Jetliners will be on the bandstand again on tdecember19 and 20 at the BMICH.

If the movement of tickets one months prior to this concerts is any indication of their popularity? Yes most of the tickets for both days are sold out and it will be “sell-outs”no doubt.

According to the organizers, those who lined-up to purchase the tickets at the Galle Face Hotel two weeks ago, were the teenagers of the 60’s. “We are just waiting to see these “boys” perform, said one of their diehard fans, “they bring back so many memories, especially the sundown Dances at the “Grove”, when all we needed was just 2 bucks to have the time of our lives.”

And now the countdown has begun...in just 14 days the auditorium of the BMICH will come alive with the fabulous sounds of the Original Jetliners. Styling themselves to the great group that was behind many hits of Sir Cliff Richard, the Shadows, these four guys along with Ishan, Mignonne and Sohan will take you back four decades to music that was a joy to listen to.

A special note to the teenagers of today. You want to hear unadulterated sounds, then you have to be at one of these concerts. said Damayantha Kuruppu, man behind the hard work.

A Sundown dinner dance just like a “Sundown” of the 60’s at the Coconut Grove, specially for the greatest fans of the Jets has been “SOLD OUT”. “We are going to have one heck of a time” was the comment of one who met his life’s partner at the “Grove”.

Felix has already flown in from Melbourne. Anton from London, Harris from Denmark, Indra from Switzerland, Sohan from Hawaii and Mignonne from USA will be flying in within the next 10 days. Ishan has always been here.
