It’s RJB from Down Under at ‘Water’s Edge’
Rebecca Johnson band ( RJB) featuring Andrew Oh and Mark Williams from Australia, will be in action at ‘Water’s Edge’, Lanka’s latest golf resort December 19, 20 and 21.

The band based in Sydney Australia comprises 5 session Artistes who have backed the biggest and best in the music world. Their wide repertoire endears them to a large audience varying from funk, jazz, rock and pop. They have been performing at Sydney’s ‘Basement’ one of the popular nightspots, for 15 years now.

RJB comprises Rebecca Johnson, Con Settineri, Ara Nercessian, James Vertley and top Sri Lankan percussionist Sunil de Silva. Rebecca Johnson is renowned for her unique bass playing and over the years has played with numerous bands including Richard Clapton, Margaret Urlich, Ian Moss, Vanessa Amoross and more. She has now created the ultimate funk band (RJB) in which she features as the lead vocalist.

Con Settineri has been playing drums since the age of 12. His versatility brought him many contracts with well known musicians like Dough Williams, Jeff Duff, Mark Williams, Erana Clark, Barry Leef and Craig Calhoun & the Brothers of Oz. He has also toured and played with Jenny Morris. His styles include Afro, Cuban, calypso, reggae, funk, blues, jazz, pop and rock & roll.

Ara Nercessian, a child prodigy is on the keyboard. He has toured Australia many times performed at The Opera House and enjoyed a 5 year residency at the Bourbon & Beefsteck Bar at Kings Cross. Some of the bands and artistes he has played with are Andrew Oh, Jim Kelly, Craig Calhoun and the Brothers of Oz, Delilah. His versatility includes Latin, funk, pop, jazz & rock.

James Vertley is also a child star beginning his career in Thailand and then moving to Australia. James covers all styles of music from funk, rock, jazz, pop, Latin and recently playing acoustic guitar in a 30 piece orchestra with the Neil Diamond show ‘Hot August Night’.
Sunil De Silva

..Sunil is the most sought after percussionist in Australia today. He has recorded thousands of commercials and played on over two hundred CD recordings including INXS’ latest and Midnight Oil Live. Every major televison show in Australia has been graced with Sunil’s presence, including ‘The Midday Show’ where he played with the likes of Bryan Ferry and Jose Feliciano.

Sunil’s CV includes an extensive list of well known entertainers, such as international artistes Prince, Bob Marley, Paul McCartney, Jermain Jackson, John Denver and Tears For Fears. Australian artistes include Peter Allen, Renee Geyer, Marcia Hines, James Morrison, Tommy Emmanuel, Jenny Morris and Wendy Mathews. He has also participated in movie soundtracks such as Crocodile Dundee, Strictly Ballroom. Young Einstein and Dark City. Sunil’s achievements include Best Studio Player, Best Jazz Percussionist, and Best Latin Percussionist. His endorsements include LP (percussion), Pearl (drums), and Zildjian (cymbals).

The other two musicians are Andrew and Mark
Andrew Oh. Andrew spent most of the 70’s in Hong Kong working as a studio musician, and supported many international artis Roberta Flack, Sammy Davis Jr., The Bees Gees, The Drifters, to name a few.

Andrew has been involved with several musicals in Australia including The Blues Brothers with Russell Crowe and Simon Westaway, Jesus Christ Superstar, Grease the Musical, Fame the Musical, and the musical “Shout” touring nationally in Australia.

Mark Williams was blessed with the gift of music from an early age. Through the 70’s he was the biggest recording artistes in New Zealand. Songs such as Yesterday was just the Beginning of my Life and It Doesn’t Matter Anymore have reached classic status in his homeland. Although now living in Australia, Mark remains a “Kiwi” at heart. The success of his single Show No Mercy released in 19190, followed by the release of two CD’s and a guest performance on the internationally acclaimed movie, Strictly Ballroom, established Mark amongst the finest singers in Australia.
