Funeral of Eardley Perera today
Leading criminal lawyer Eardley Perera, PC died on Friday after a brief illness. His funeral will be held today (Sunday) at St. Joseph's Church, Moratuwa at 4.30 p.m.

Mr. Perera hailed from Moratuwa, and had been at the Bar for 54 years. He was the uncontested second President of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka(BASL) since 1977-78.

He was a member of the Law Commission and the Council of Legal Education. Mr. Perera was in the first batch of President's Counsel appointed in 1981, having refused silk as a Queen's Counsel in 1967. The BASL has requested its members to be present at the church burial grounds at 4.15 p.m.
