Speaking
of the films that have waited long for the release, Vasantha is
incensed at the wastage of both money and talent used to make artistic
films that are kept awaiting while third rate Bollywood films gets
priority. He thinks that this type audience exposure will undermine
the audience’s ability to appreciate artistic films of outstanding
quality.
The
National Film Corporation (NFC) has to be blamed as it allots funds
to film makers indiscriminately and most of these funds are used
to make commercial films.‘This type of stepmotherly treatment
may be the cause of the decline of artistic films in the Sri Lankan
cinema’ said Mr. Obeysekera unhapply. |
