‘Asani Varsha ‘ready to pour
Veteran director Vasantha Obeysekere’s latest film Asani Varsha (Wrath and Rain) will be released from April 7 at Savoy Cinema Colombo and at other EAP circuit theatres.

Scripted by Vasantha, the story deals with a conflict ridden father son relationship. Trapped in a social net of class divisions, poverty and discrimination, the story is the odyssey of a young son’s search for parental love and a reflection of the larger tragedy of alienated Sri Lankan youth.

The young and talented cast played in Asani Varsha are Jagath Chamil, Kamal Addaraarachchi, Meena Kumari, Sanath Gunathilaka, Veena Jayakody, Mahendra Perera, Semini Iddmalgoda and Janaki Wijerthne.

In the technical crew director of photography Jayanath Gunawardhana, Editor is Ravindra Guruge and Art Director is Lal Harindranath. Make-up by Imal Shanaka Peiris, assistant director by Wimal Deshapriya, the musical score is written by Premasiri Kemadasa. Nihal Sanjaya is the production executive, Asani Warsha is produced by Soma Edirisinghe.
