RCGC will be in Scotland
Bandula Weerasinghe and Kumar Boralessa take wing soon to Scotland to participate the Jaguar International Classic. Boralessa and Weerasinghe qualified very successfully in the recent contest at the Ridgeways when Entrepreneur Arthur Senanayake the dashing Chief Executive of Jaguar Sri Lanka sponsored the event in extravagant style. Both played excellent golf much deserving of the all expenses paid trip to compete in a world event.

Boralessa is over the moon. He is obviously delighted with the opportunity to meet all the pals whose friendship he cultivated during their visit to participate in teh125the Anniversary Celebrations of the Royal Colombo. Of special importance will be meeting up with Harry McCaw and if luck responds he may have the success of a meeting with the Captain of the Royal & Ancient His Excellency the Duke of York. Bandula Weerasinghe is thrilled to compete and he is at the nets twice a day every day. He is hitting a great ball and appears quite confident of some degree of success. Nilika his charming wife will be there to cheer and support and to compensate Bandula has offered her visits to the Shops & Boutiques of Oxford Street. Fashionable Dushy has caught the infection but is undecided.

Stroke play contest
The first stroke play competition in the new Royal Colombo Calendar was completed last week when Bandula Weerasinghe once again moved into recognition with a scintillating round of flashy golf. He won the 'A' Division smartly beating young Binupa Wijesinghe 68-69.

Rahim Shines
A.S. Rahim struck great form with an exciting and highly commendable nett 63. He had pals round him when he decided to give them shot by shot commentaries of his extremely successful performance.

Excellent Rohan
Rohan Perera moved into a great round probably his best ever. He had his game in full command and ended exceptionally well on nett 67. He beamed all afternoon willing to talk if anybody was willing to listen.

Masters
P.R. Balaratnarajah returned from exile to great performance of well-calculated stroke play and miserly used strokes. I understand there was jubilation in the domestic front. Majid Awn tried hard and eventually slopped on nett 71.

Seniors
M.R. Thabrew was once again recognized for a rewarding performance. He was delighted with his performance of nett 67 and was agreeable to talk about the excellence of his performance. M. Jameel came behind with nett 75.

Rumblings
It was unpleasant for some to find that chosen players were partners and starting times of their choosing. Last year the Vice Captain and some players' hope that the present Vice Captain Ajantha Mylvaganam will correct this untidy situation and to please all never arrested this situation.
