Adornment for Relic

The gold chain gifted by President Mahinda Rajapaksa will be offered to the Sacred Tooth Relic, to mark the completion of his first year as President. The sovereign gold chain is three feet long with 61 quarter sovereigns attached to each other. It has a pendant studded with coloured sapphires depicting the Buddhist flag carved in gold. The pendant bears the President's emblem.

The gold chain was created and designed by Rasika Bandara Wijesinghe of Vogue Jewellers and was handed over by Vogue Kandy branch manager Sanjay Marasinghe. The work was especially created under the supervision of Managing Director Anura Hemachandra.
