Virtusa going public in US  
Virtusa Incorporation, the leading US IT firm, will go down in history as the first Lankan run US firm to list on the NASDAQ Stock Market in the United States, according to company officials.
 
Vittachi to appeal
Sources say V.P. Vittachi is gearing up to file an appeal in the Court of Appeals this coming week after the most recent round of legal proceedings with Sri Lankan business mogul and business partner, Harry Jayawardene.

Government officials are insisting that the North East conflict should not hinder development assistance and noted that the pattern of grants was changing.
 
Indian oil block grant not linked to railway
Reports which surfaced this past week that Sri Lanka offered an oil block to India in the Cauvery Basin in return for the construction of a railway route stretching from Colombo to Matara has been refuted by Minister for Petroleum and Petroleum Resources, A.H.M. Fowzie.
