Leave the birds alone

Weerawila is a peaceful bird sanctuary. Why should anyone want to disturb this peaceful environment by building an international airport practically at its doorstep? I humbly request the President of Sri Lanka and the Environment Minister to desist from going through with this project. I implore you not to destroy the southern wetlands.

This is home to many species of birds, and migratory birds during winter. It attracts bird watchers both local and foreign. Damage could be caused to the planes should a bird fly into its fuselage. Please do not go through with this project. There is only a thin line between development and destruction. Please do not cross it.
