School vans: More questions than answers

 
Inflation is high and the rat race is getting even tougher. Sri Lanka's tradition of the male being the sole provider is no longer operational. Spouses have to go to work otherwise making ends meet borders on the impossible.
 

To ride along unscathed

Like all other road users in this country, motorcyclists too, aren't known for safe and sane riding. Statistics show that between 2001 and 2005, the accident rate for motorcycles has gone up while that of other vehicles (excepting three wheelers) has remained constant or actually decreased.

Weren't they stately! Mighty Mini Club's annual show - Concour's de Elegance attracted over fifty minis which were on parade at the Excel World car on a Saturday afternoon
 

Dilan's drive to the top

"I had a very bad crash… and that was how I started my career!" Yes, a 'start' which would have certainly been the 'finish' for most aspiring race car drivers but that was not the case for Dilan Seneviratne (25). This was in Pannala in May of 2005 but a month later, he went on to win his first race in Katukurunda in his Honda Civic V Tec.
