Fighting Antonians clinch victory
By Aubrey Kuruppu
Some fighting cricket by the Antonians helped them to a 40 run win over Trinity in their limited over match for the Sir Richard Aluvihare Trophy at Katugastota.
Contrasting forties by Dissanaike and Munas helped the home team to a respectable 206. Trinity skipper Pathirana captured his usual five wicket haul.
The Trinitians were pushed back in their run chase by an incisive opening spell by man of the match Jamion. Bulunawewa threatened for a while and Gangoda batted long and hard. However, the Trinitians lacked fire-power at the end. Off spinner Ekanayake picked up five wickets and the best bowler's award.
