Rs. 48 m. for Mahinda Wijesekera’s Ministry

The Government will seek Parliamentary approval this week for a supplementary estimate of Rs. 48 million for the Special Projects Ministry as the estimate was not presented along with the previous estimates in late June.

Supplementary estimates totalling around Rs. 600 million were approved by Parliament on June 22 for six ministries but the estimate for the Special Projects Ministry was not taken up on that day. The Ministry is headed by UNP MP Mahinda Wijesekara who crossed over to the Government.The extension of the emergency will also be taken up for debate on Thursday.
