‘Maname’ and ‘Sinhabahu’ come to the Lionel Wendt
The two greatest plays written by Professor Ediriwira Sarachchandra, 'Maname' and 'Sinhabahu' will go on the boards at the Lionel Wendt Theatre at 3.30 p.m. and 7.00pm on July 6 and 7.
The two stylized plays produced by Prof. Sarachchandra became a landmark in the history of Sri Lankan theatre and from 1956 from the original cast, the play was enacted by actors of different generations.
The latest cast of the two plays includes Sanath Wimalasiri (as Maname), Jayanath Bandara (as Lion), Tharanga Kumari as Princes Maname. Other roles are played by Sunil Tilakaratne,Namal Nethranjana Gamage, Nehari Wickremarachchi and Amila Jayakody. |
