It had nothing to do with George Bush but the ‘Golf party in the Bush’ by the Victoria Golf and country resort near Kandy recently turned out to be an elegant and well-attended affair.
“We could have sold at least an additional 60 tickets for this year’s party,” noted Nickola Bonifass, the Resort’s Marketing and Sales Executive, adding, “We stopped the sales at 60 diners as this is the maximum we can cope with in this Bush setting.”
Supported by Aqua Fresh Water, Deccan Helicopters and Premadasa Jewellers this year’s ‘Party in the Bush’ featured a secret location overlooking the Victoria Lake, lit with flares and candle light. To get to the site each person was chauffeur driven to the secret site along a pathway of flares and bonfires. Lalindra Ranaweera, the Resort’s Marketing Manager and driving force behind the event, said in a press statement issued after the event that, “the diners were asked to dress in Black Tie ‘upper half’and relaxed lower half because of the Bush location – this time we got all sorts of outfits and it was great to see everyone getting into the swing of things.”
The big winner for night was local business tycoon, Ravi Mediwake, owner of Kundasale Auto Servcice, who won a spectacular trip for four in a Deccan Helicopter. Other prize winners received gorgeous pendants from Premadasa Jewellers in Kandy. Ranaweea added - “For the next party in the Bush we aim to surprise the diners again with a more special and spectacular venue.” |
