“Scenario”; Bertram's
another direction
Bertram Nihal is not only simply a director of teledramas. With his sound knowledge of the medium he had taken up the task of sharing what he has learnt with the enthusiastic youngsters who follow the 'Scenario', a course on television and cinema conducted by Archdiocesan Social Communication and Cultural Centre.
Bertram was the director of 'Scenario' for 2007 and the presentation of awards and certificates for the students who had successfully finished the course will be held under the auspicious of Vice Chancellor of the University of Colombo and Archbishop of Colombo, Most Rev. Dr. Oswald Gomis on August 5 at 4 pm at Bonjean Hall of St Joseph's College, Maradana.
Thirty students, possible future television and cinema artistes, will receive their certificates at the event held with the participation of leading journalists, artistes and professionals. Veteran journalist Kalakeerthi Edwin Ariyadasa will deliver the key-note address on escalating knowledge, for the progress of audio-visual education in Sri Lanka.
'Scenario' organised by Director Archdiocesan Social Communication and Cultural Centre, Rev. Fr. Sriyananda Fernando is aimed at providing basic knowledge on screenplay writing, acting, cinematography, editing and direction for those aspire to get into TV and Cinema media.
Among the other veterans who shared their knowledge were Dr. Tissa Abeysekera, Edwin Ariyadasa, M. D. Mahindapala, Bandula Vithanage, Ariyawansa Ranaweera, Jayalath Manoratne, Gamini Weragama, Ravindra Guruge, Ashoka Handagama, Palitha Perera, Ranjith Wickremasinghe, Ashoka Athaudahetti and Dhammika Dissanayake. |
