Grand night of the journalists

It was a larger gathering than usual for the annual Journalism Awards of Excellence held this week as TV and radio awards were added to the honours list. The awards organised by the Editors' Guild of Sri Lanka and the Sri Lanka Press Institute was held on a grand scale at the BMICH on August 7.
A highlight of the evening was the gold medals presented to five veteran journalists who have served the industry for many decades.
