Sri Lankan Prime Minister Ratnasiri Wickramanayake has been invited to visit Poland to mark 50 years of bilateral relations between the two countries and Foreign Ministry sources here said the visit, along with a delegation, is expected to take place this month. “An invitation has been extended to the Sri Lankan Prime Minister to visit poland,” confirmed Dr Krzysztof Majka, Polish ambassador to India and Sri Lanka, who was in Colombo this week for ceremonies connected to commemorating the 50th anniversary of ties between the two countries. Majka said Poland was keen to strengthen ties with Sri Lanka and sees an opportunity in increasing the number of Polish tourists to Sri Lanka. “The price levels (for travel packages) are reasonably good and the hotels are nice here,” he said adding that there was potential to grow this business.
