Trincomalee District Schools-Drama Competition 2007

Around 40 Sinhala, Tamil and Muslims schools have registered to participate in the Trincomalee District Schools Drama Competition organised by the Women and Child Care Organization in partnership with the Department of Education and supported by the European Union.

It will be held on October 24 and 25 at the Urban Council Hall, Trincomalee. The contest which aims to bring out the hidden dramatic talents of the children whilst sharing the culture of each ethnic group, is open to all the schools in the District. The competition themes will highlight:

• Children for Peace: On a positive note, any creative initiative to show what children could do to bring peace in households/ communities/schools etc.,
• Child Protection: A portrayal of children's issues that exist in their own communities and some strategic approaches to them.
