Saman and Nirasha bag squash titles

Saman Tillekeratne and Nirasha Guruge held sway the CCC squash courts yesterday winning the national open titles for men and women respectively.

Both Saman Tillekaratne and Navin Samarasinghe who are residing abroad travel down to Sri Lanka to take part in the national squash championships annually.

Saman Tillekaratne beat Navin Samarasinghe 8-10, 9-7, 9-7, 9-7 while Nirasha Guruge demolished Randima Ranaweera 9-0, 9-4, 9-3.

The competition sponsored by James Finlay Rentokil Pvt. Ltd. saw L.K. Manjula winning the men’s over 35 title and Shammi Silva taking the men’s over 45 title.

The others to win titles yesterday were:

Over 50 men - I.M. Ramzi, Men’s Novices: Erosh Nilanga, Women’s Novices Final: Mithma Nanayakkara and Plate: Danushka Fernando.
