Workshop on “Customs Valuation” for importers and exporters

The International Trade Centre (ITC), Geneva in cooperation with the Department of Commerce of Sri Lanka and the Ceylon Chamber of Commerce and with the support of the European Commission is organizing a one-day workshop on Customs Valuation on 24th January 2008 in a bid to educate the private sector on methods of valuation under the agreement in order to facilitate trade and to iron out any misunderstandings that may arise between the trading community and the Customs authorities, a press release said.

The workshop will be conducted by Stéphane Le Roy, who is an international legal expert on the WTO Customs Valuation Agreement and who currently practices in a renowned international law firm in the field of Customs and Excise litigation. Participation at the workshop is on prior registration only and priority will be given to senior private sector officials from companies involved in import/export.
