TV: the cheapest form of entertainment

Nalini de Livera of Negombo writes...

I thought of expressing any views on the recently telecast of teledramas first. Eventually many at leisure to view them at home rather flocking in to cinema halls. Nowadays people choose the easy way. Many could view whilst having their meals. I saw in the media it's less expensive than going to a cinema' The film producers are pretty and over telecasting films in the T.V channels. A rather confusing affair as a matter of fact.

The prices of the essential goods are sky rocketing, people are hard pressed for money. They willingly or unwillingly choose the easiest. I, too, no option prefer the T.V. for entertainment. The television must be praised for doing the extra mile showing yester year's film Hindi films and also some of the new years films. I salute them for their kind consideration.

The Rupavahini telecasts some good extraordinary teledramas also Swarnawahini and Sirasa and the I.T.N. I must not forget about Derana providing good entertainment. So why should go dressed up spending enormous money for tickets for cinema halls? It's quite crazy.

The people can't afford their only entertainment is the televison. I take opportunity to thank all the T.V. channels providing not only films and teledramas, they give talks, news, art, educational programmes etc etc.

Lastly I must express my gratitude to Derana for their wonderful hilarious teledrama "Weten Eha" and Sirasa's "Yes Boss". There are so many who like it. I always feel glad watching Swarnavahini's "Hendawa". Therefore it's worthwhile to view the television leisurely at home than walk to a Cinema hall. I hope many will agree unquestionably.
