Action after perusing documents, says FIB
Irregularities in Grade 1 admissions

Action on complaints regarding alleged false documents forwarded by parents to gain admission for their children to National Schools would be taken only after the documents are checked, Fraud Investigation Bureau (FIB) Director SSP M.B. Arlis said.
He said the FIB had received complaints on 100 cases.
“But first we have to check whether the complaints are true as what we received were simply complaints. That’s why we took a court order to look into the documents,” he said.
He said the documents in question are presently with the interview boards and appeal and objections boards and once they are received, the FIB would check on their authenticity from the respective Grama Niladharis.
However, The Sunday Times learns that the investigations on complaints made against 21 applicants seeking admission to Royal College, Colombo would commence immediately, even though complaints were made against a number of applicants seeking admission to D.S. Senanayake, Ananda and Isipathana Colleges and Srimavo Bandaranaike and Visaka Vidyalayas. |
