The grand finale of the Young and Up Coming Fashion Designer Award of 2008 was held at the Waters Edge on January 20. The event organized by Zainab Ammarah was won Terin Gabbalage, her theme being the amphibious Serpent.

Terin also carried away the awards for evening wear and sports wear. Subhashini Wickramaratne was adjudged first runner-up with her theme Oceanic Wonders. She also received the award for best office wear. Joanna Adams was the second runner up with the theme Wild Africa, and also took the award of show stopper.

The winner received a return trip to Paris among many other gifts while the runners- up also received valuable gifts.
