Doctors Vs Lawyers at P. Sara stadium today

The inaugural Law-Medical Cricket Encounter for Lawyers and for those in the Medical Profession which is a sequel to the Law-Medical students’ encounter will be held today at the P. Saravanamuttu Stadium.

There will also be a Poster Parade and a Fancy Dress Parade in keeping with tradition. The dinner dance of the same event will be held on the 15th of this month at the Colombo Hilton.

The Bar Association of Sri Lanka through its Special Projects Committee in collaboration with the Sri Lanka Medical Association has for the first time organized this event. There was a tradition of over 75 years of fellowship between the Law Students (Sri Lanka Law College) and Medical Students (Medical College) annually where a cricket match and a dinner dance was held. This was a great event and was an event looked forward to by not only the students and members of the legal and medical professions, but also by the general public.

The Bar Association of Sri Lanka has over 8000 members and 71 branch associations all over the Island including the North and the East.

The 1st Law-Medical Cricket Encounter between Law Students of the Ceylon Law College and the Medical Students of the Medical Faculty of University of Ceylon was played in 1914.
