Royal fail to clinch win over Trinity
Royal made all the running but failed to clinch a win over Trinity at the Asgiriya Stadium yesterday.
Two dropped catches, a run out missed and a reluctance to make bowling changes, cost Royal the match. The visitors bowled Trinity out for 112 and took a lead of 85 runs. Sahan Hettiarachchi 59 (58 balls, 5 fours, 3 sixes) pulverized the attack as the Royalists went for a declaration. Chasing 214 for an unlikely win, Trinity lost early wickets and were rescued by Jaleel and Wimalaweera initially. Towards the end, Illangaratne and Jayasundara kept the opponents at bay.
