New dance music line up and new menu at California Grill

The California Grill Rooftop Restaurant, the popular fine dining restaurant of the Galadari Hotel will unveil its new menu and a great line up of music for dancing from March 1.

The music at the California Grill in one of the best in town and offers dance music on Fridays and Saturdays Ernest Francis and Paul Pereira will keep the guests entertained on Piano music. Ernest Francis takes the audience on Tuesdays and Paul Pereira plays on Sundays, Monday and Wednesdays.

The weekends are set for the revellers to dance the night away with music by Ernest Francis Combo on Thursday and Saturday and the very popular 'Warren & Rozette' will perform every Friday night.

Ernest Combo is a four piece Jazz band headed by Ernest Francis, who is a well-known pianist. The veteran drummer Nesan Thyagarajah handled the drums for the Combo. Saxophonist Madanayake sails through on ballads that were popular and Rex Fernando on double bass. Ernest and Combo plays unplugged and specialized in traditional dance, jazz and strict tempo music experience their cool sounds sans crashing guitars on Thursdays and Saturdays at the California Grill. ‘Warren & Rozette’ is a husband and wife musical outfit featuring Warren Nugara on keyboards and vocals and Rozette Telling on vocals.

The duo has been performing in Colombo hotel circuit for the last ten years on regular contracts. Warren has been in the music industry for nearly 15 years. And Rozette is now completing her 12th year as professional.

The band performs a verity of music ranging from Pop, Dance, R & B, Slow rock, Jazz funk, Country Music and Old favourites. Popular songs from singers such as Robbie Williams, Sade, Sheryl Crow, Bryan Adams, Celine Dion, Shakira, Norah Jones, Ronan Keating, CCR, Billie Joel, Eagles, Smokey, Neil Diamond, Bon Jovi, Kenny Rogers, Lionel Ritchie, Randy Crawford, the Carpenters and Bee-Gees are a few highlights from their repertoire.

The band is currently on contract with Trans Asia every Thursday at the lobby and every Saturday at the Library. Having a reputation for its super steaks and sea food, the California Grill caters to a cross section of patrons from regular local guests to foreign travellers.

The new menu at the restaurant features hot and cold appetizers, salads, soups and a vast range of main courses from seafood, chicken, meat dishes including the firm favorites seafood grill and prim rib and of course a fabulous selection of hot and cold desserts from Flambe's to Crepes.

The new menu also focuses on the Vegetarian's as each section of the menu offers vegetarian and non vegetarian dishes. The main attraction of the Restaurant is 'Afinox Wine display chiller', a wooden finish glass door display to store different kinds of wines at the right temperature is the latest addition, offering guest nothing but the best of wines. The Galadari hotel is the first Five Star Hotel to receive the prestigious certificate of conformity from HACCP (Hazard Analysis Critical Control Points).
