Mawjood moves to second place
Thomian leg spinner Milan Fernando, continues to lead at the end of count number two, but it was Royalist leg spinner Haroon Mawjood who has been the most impressive performer this week in the All Island contest.
Mawjood who lay in the fourth position at the end of count number one has now moved to the second position with 173 votes thus ousting Nalandian Ashan Priyanjana into third position.
Another noteworthy entrant in the All Island Competition is Anandian Udara Peiris who now has moved into the 8th position after failing get a single vote at count number one.
In the Outstation Contest there is a change at the top. This time R.A. dinesh Chathuranga another cricketer who failed to gain a single vote at count number one has taken the top slot occupied by Dharmapala’s Thilina Athureliya. In this week’s count Chathuranga, Athureliya and Tharaka Dushantha have topped the one hundred vote mark with 127,115 and 111 votes respectively.
In the International School Contest it seems to be an all Gateway competition with Malith Silva and Adhil Niyaz leading the way. However in this count Adhi Bakeer from Asian International School also has joined the fray. |
