JVP leads in teacher co-op elections

The JVP backed Lanka Guru Seva Sangamaya was leading in the elections for the co-operative society run by teachers islandwide.

The JVP was leading in almost all provinces against the other unions including the SLFP backed union. Elections are being held after eight years consequent to the JVP challenging the failure to hold elections to select office bearers. Some 200 members will be elected from which the main office bearers will be selected.
