New chapter for Serene Garden

The new Serene Garden Hotel came into operation last month in Kandy on a new picturesque location at Rajapihilla Mawatha.
After merely five years in operations, Serene Garden Hotel moved to its latest luxury premises under the same name close to the old hotel.
Serene Garden Hotel is situated close to the famous Dunumadalawa Jungle on Rajapihilla Mawatha (Upper Lake Road) overlooking the historic Kandy Lake and the Temple of the Tooth Relic.
After a short period of operations, Serene Garden Hotel has managed to gain the confidence and the good name of top travel agents and the holiday maker.
The proprietor of the hotel, W. M. Sriyananda, a businessman from Nuwara Eliya, is keen on promoting tourism in Kandy.
‘The new Serene Garden hotel is an up market property with many new additions and facilities for the top end of the market’ he said.
Few blocks away from the old Serene Garden Hotel, the new project has all modern amenities with unchanged traditional Serene Garden service.
Facing the hotel is Dunumadalawa reserve, a virtual canopy of green and around it are mist shrouded hills wafting cool breezes. To an active tourist, Serene Garden Hotel is the ideal base to visit many adventurous and historical sites such as centuries old Buddhist temples, the elephant orphanage in Pinnawala, Victoria, Randenigala reservoirs , historic Mahiyangana and of course the popular Knuckles Range.
Designed to cater exclusively to the holiday maker, the hotel has 38 deluxed and standard rooms including one suite. All new rooms are comfortably furnished with A/C, fan, hot and cold water, piped music, telephone and TV with cable channels and attached bath. All rooms additionally offer mini-bar facilities. The hotel also has Jacuzzi and a swimming pool.
This ‘six storied up market’ new project boasts one of the best architectural design structures of the area and with a breathtaking view of Kandy.
'Most of the guests we get are from the diplomatic community from Colombo and the short term guests from various travel agents. Sri Lankan Clientele is one of the most important segment of our business' said Vajira Borelessa, the Manager of the Hotel.
Two modern banquet halls with the capacity of 250 and 150 pax and pool side restaurant will be the top attraction of the new hotel.‘Special menus with Sri Lankan dishes along with the Continental cuisine are the specialty of Chief Chef Dinesh of the hotel.
