Tourism industry welcomes new SriLankan CEO

Sri Lanka’s travel and tours’ industry has welcomed the appointment of Manoj Gunewardene as the CEO of SriLankan Airlines.

The Sri Lanka Association of Inbound Tour Operators (SLAITO)Association praised the support extended by Gunewardene to the tourism and leisure sector in earlier positions as Country Manager UK where he actively supported and facilitated the UK outbound operators to channel tourism traffic to Sri Lanka and the generous allocation of SriLankan Airline’s resources for the development of Sri Lankan tourism as the Regional Manager for Europe and the Americas.

The Travel Agents Association of Sri Lanka (TAASL) said Gunawardena appointment augurs well for the outbound travel industry of Sri Lanka.
