Two bus bombs defused

Two bombs were found in buses in separate incidents in Katubedda and Ganemulla yesterday police said. At Katubedda a bomb weighing 4.5 kilograms was found in a bus from Colombo to Moratuwa at Rawatawatta. The bomb was detected by a woman passenger and later defused by the army.

A 1.5 kg parcel bomb with a timing device was found inside a bus parked at the Ganemulla stand last afternoon after the conductor alerted the police. The parcel placed on the last seat was spotted by the conductor soon after all the passengers got off the bus at Ganemulla, detectives said.
