Art Television Launches Nutrition program in Conjunction with CIC Agri Businesses.
Fruit ANG VEG Facts Delivers health and nutrition tips to the public. CIC Agri Business recently launched its Corporate Social Responsibility initiative by introducing a novel 5 minute capsule on Health and Nutrition facts on Fruits and Vegetables, in conjunction with ART Television Broadcasting Company. This five minute capsule will educate the general public on a variety of fruit and vegetable nutritional facts and features views, opinions and advice by Nutrition specialists. This latest program which started airing on the 24th of this month will continue to be aired during then next 11 weeks covering 24 fruit and vegetable items.
Viewers can tune into Art TV at 7.30 pm every Saturday and Sunday to catch this program which is purely focusing on fruits and vegetables cultivated in Sri Lanka.
The program is enriched with the participation of prominent nutritionists such as Dr. Renuka Jayatissa who is attached to UNICEF, Dr. Renuka Silva the Head of Department of Nutrition, Fisheries and Aquaculture of the Wayamba University, Dr. Ananda Chandrasekera of University of Peradeniya and Dr. Janaki Gunaratne from the Institute of Industrial Technology.
Commenting on this program Dr. Renuka Jayathissa a contributing nutritionist to the "Fruit and Veg Facts" program points out, "This program content comes from people who really know the subject and it will help consumers to get a real understanding of the importance of consuming these fruits and vegetables which are high in nutritional and medicinal value".
ART Television, affiliated to CNN Worldwide, has commenced its focus in producing greater local programming for its English speaking viewers. In 2007, the start of the reality television production of Ford Supermodel of the Model Sri Lanka received overwhelming responses and its new concept line ups in March 2008 include making Parents, a parent child relationship program and Business Class in Depth interviews with business leaders in Sri Lanka's community.
