Citi Hitz are linked and aired on Dialog TV through the latest technology and have become very popular among many audiences. In this light, we plan to have an event for Sri Lanka's motion picture/film industry and future, talented film-makers as well as loyal consumers and viewers of cinema and teledramas.

Citi Hitz has been on air since December 2007 and for a year we have been giving film-makers and amateurs in the industry an opportunity to promote their work on this channel although as a rule no formal advertising airs on the station.

Bringing the wonder of the big screen through the latest technology is not all we have planned. 2009 will bring a host of new entertainment items which will bring Sri Lanka's newest talent in the cinema industry to the forefront. We at Citi Hitz will be having a special series of programmes to bring the work of these creative young individuals into the public eye' said Nimal Laxapathiarachchi, the head of Citi Hitz.

'We can give sufficient exposure both national and international, for these short films done by these individuals. Citi Hitz wants to bring the value of the short film back to life through these especially planned programmes. Here, we will be encouraging new directors, through funding and the provision of other necessities in order to create a series of short films which will be aired on Citi Hitz' he added.
