St. Anne’s fight back - Big Match drawn at Kurunegala

 

Maliyadeva took the first innings lead but St. Anne’s ensured that it wasn’t one-way traffic in their Big Match at the Welagedera Stadium in Kurunegala. The game ended in a draw.

Devan Dasun Madumal gave a stellar performance with bat and ball, stroking 53 and then claiming 6 for 87 with his right arm leg spin.

Not to be outdone, Annite skipper Shanaka Shaminda also claimed a six wicket haul.

Maliyadeva 231 in 64.2 overs (V. Kumara 29, Gayan Manishan 60, Vimanga Perera 54, D. Madumal 53, Shanaka A.. Shaminda 6 for 48) and 0 for no loss in one over.

St. Anne’s 181 in 70 overs (C. de Silva 42, J. Gunasekera 30, R. Wijesinghe 20; D. Madumal 6 for 87)
