Match ends in tame draw at Kalutara

51st Battle of the Mangoosteens
The 51st Battle of the Mangoosteens between Kalutara MV and Tissa MMV concluded at the Kalutara Esplanade yesterday ended in a tame draw. Though Tissa MMV dominated the first day’s proceedings they underwent some anxious moments on the second day. Tissa MMV having bowled out Kalutara MV for 132 fared no better as they were in return bundled out for 90 in their second innings were left Kalutara MV a target of 120 runs for victory in 12 overs and they ended the day on 65 for 2.

Isham and Dilanka reach milestones

Zahira skipper Isham Ghouse and St Benedict’s left arm spinner Dilanka Auwardt achieved milestones in their drawn Under 19 inter-school cricket encounter concluded at Kotahena yesterday.

Ghouse who cracked an unbeaten ton reached the 1000 runs mark while Dilanka bagged 100 wickets for the season with his seven wicket match bag.
