The legal profession will honour Desmond Fernando, PC, a former President of the Bar Association of Sri Lanka, on Wednesday to mark the completion of his 50 years of practice.
A dinner will be held at Hotel Galadari to mark the event.
Mr. Fernando, was a founder member and Secretary of the Civil Rights Movement and was elected a Commissioner of the International Commission of Jurists (ICJ) in 1988 and served as a member of its Executive Committee and subsequently as Vice President. He has also been the Secretary General, Vice President and President of the International Bar Association and is an Honorary Life member. |
