A model’s world unfolds

How often have you imagined what it would be like to be a model? ‘A Day in the Life of a Model’, a fun-filled fashion show for a cause may provide some answers.

The novel show will take place at the Holiday Inn on Saturday, October 10 at 8 p.m. with the models displaying five different segments of clothing – lingerie, sports wear, working clothes, early evening and for the grand finale- dinner dance wear. The models will present the latest collection from Bella Vita of Jawatte Road, not on the catwalk as is usually done but in innovative fashion.

There will also be a bridal showcase .The bridal couples will display the latest exquisite collection from Symposium of 235 Galle Road, Colombo 4. Jewellery by Elly Creations of Bullers Road and hair and make up by the popular hair salon Capello Salons in Sulaiman Terrace, Colombo 5 will complete the bridal picture.

The show is being organised by the Sonvit Charities Trust. Launched two years ago by Sonia Vitarana, Sonia together with her committee are active in helping the less fortunate children of our country. All proceeds from the fashion show will be donated to two deserving charities.

The Rehabilitation Centre for Communication Impaired (RCCI) at Nawala focuses on the rehabilitation of adults and children with communication handicaps, such as those who are autistic, have Down’s syndrome and attention deficiency disorders. There are 69 children in the school who are looked after by dedicated staff. RCCI need continuous support with funds and equipment to help them continue with this great work.

Sohan and the X-periments and DJ Lakshan will provide the entertainment for the evening. Tickets priced at Rs. 3000 per head are inclusive of a buffet meal, wine, plus the chance to win many prizes in raffle draws.
