The biggest fashion production of the year by Colombo Cinnamon Round Table and Lanka Institute of Fashion Technology. The pioneer in fashion education in the country, Lanka Institute of Fashion Technology (LIFT) as a stepping stone to begin its decade's celebrations is organising fashion presentations by various international designers and fashion companies at the biggest fashion production of the year Chic organised by the Round Table - Sri Lanka with LIFT.

Chic is an event that brings you fashion and entertainment in style. The design concepts of this event are unique where the audience will experience various aspects in fashion design merged with entertainment. An exciting welcome is awaiting you at the event in style, at the entrance of the specially designed venue for Chic.

You will walk in to a fashion showcase where you will find fashion and colour trends for 2010, International designer presentations, concept to creation of eco friendly fashion interpreted through art and clothing, Fashion a professional career and learn the subject through formal education to convert creative thoughts into fulfilling human needs with the help of science and technology, costume to clothing - the change over time. The fashion showcase will also have a display of an Avant Garde collection designed by LIFT advanced diploma students.

While the fashion showcase is on from 10.00am to 6.00pm there will be fashion presentations and workshops from 10.00 am to 2.00pm for those interested to know about the fashion design industry and meet international designers. The presentations will include.

Changing fashion over the course of history through fashion styling and photography by Joe Spinelli (The Design professor of Raffles Design Institute - Singapore)

Latest techniques in apparel after treatment application and wet processing application by Melbourne Textile washing plant

The excitement begins at 7.00pm when the dramatic fashion shows take their call. These shows are focussed to promote locally nurtured talent through international models and choreography to lift the face of the fashion industry in the country in the international market. Fashion shows will be held on 27th and 28th evening and both shows will present variety in design and concept from production to promotion. Unlike many other shows you will not find the usual stage setup. It's all about creativity that Liora Events put together with LIFT to entertain the audience.

The end of the fashion show leads to cocktails and after party which again will be entertained by the very best international and local talent with world famous DJ Clement D'Souza, the Official IPL DJ from South Africa, as well as our very own Colombo House Mafia well into the evening.
