ODEL opens 12th store in Maharagama

ODEL opened its 12th store in Sri Lanka at Maharagama on Wednesday, continuing its expansion in 2010. ODEL founder and CEO Otara Gunewardene joined four elegantly-attired mannequins on a giant revolving turntable before she stepped into the crowd to invite the people of Maharagama to walk in to yet another impeccable emporium of more than 12,000 square-feet of exciting shopping, according to a statement issued by the upmarket store chain.

“Maharagama is one of the most bustling suburbs of Colombo and an evolving shopping hub,” Ms Gunewardene said. “The ODEL store at Maharagama will elevate the shopping experience to a new level for the people of this area, and will also serve several important nearby towns such as Pannipitiya, Kottawa and Homagama.”

She said ODEL plans to open several new stores in 2010 to better serve the large numbers of loyal customers who travel to shop at its outlets in Colombo.
