Singapore styles for a cause

Come Sepetember 24, it’s haute couture for a cause as the Singpore (Sri Lanka) Club presents the “Singapore Club Charity Fashion Show 2010” featuring diverse talents of fashion and entertainment.

Designer wear collections by Ann Teoh, celebrity supermodel Charmaine Harn, Laura Bong choreographer and artistic director of Dance Asia with her dance troupe will all be in this year’s show at Cinnamon Lakeside’s Kings Court Ballroom at 7 p.m.

Fund raising being one of the main missions of the Singapore (Sri Lanka) Club, it supports the rehabilitation of children and young adults at the Thalassaemia Centre, Kurunegala. Together with generous donations and past fund raisers, medical equipment, medicines etc., have been purchased for the centre for many patients in desperate need of treatment. Last year, a two-day fashion show fundraiser was a huge success raising over one million rupees.

Singapore based designer Ann Teoh’s flair for sophistication has made her one of the top wedding and evening gown designers in the Asian region. When her first store opened in 1992, she became an overnight sensation! Her show collection will feature smart casual through to evening wear in soft flowing silhouettes made from the finest lace, silk & chiffons. Charmaine Harn and nine Sri Lankan models will be gracing the catwalk in Ann’s fabulous designs.

Singapore Airlines, Cinnamon Lakeside Colombo, Chagall, The Make Up Box, TNL Lite Radio, ART TV, Avant Garde Magazine, Colombo Jewellery Stores, Alpha Orient Lanka, Textile International Colombo in collaboration with All Cats are Grey, APL, Prima Taste, Bauer, Standard Chartered Bank & Deutsche Bank are all part of this event.
