‘Tribe’ comprises of three very talented musicians. Sureshni Wanigasuriya, Thilak Perera and Sukumal Perera. Thilak started his career as a drummer with his brother's band ‘Gliders’, when he was 12 years old..Some of the bands he played with were ‘Pioneers’, ‘20th Century’, ‘Errol & the Genuine Spares’ and finally before forming ‘Tribe’ he was with ‘Sohan & the X’Periments’ for 24 years.

Sureshni started her career with her uncle's band ‘Golden Chimes’ doing back up vocals. Then she formed her own band ‘Europa’ and they performed in Oman for two years. After coming to Sri Lanka, she joined ‘Ecstasy’ and later Aquarius and ‘Sohan and the X’Periments’.

’Tribe’ come a long way with Sureshni and Thilak along with Sukumal Perea playing Keyboards. The Trio performed mostly in Tourist Hotels in Down South and private functions. Also Thilak and Sureshni have performed in many countries together as a duo.

‘But the saddest part is, though tourism is booming in the country, musicians are not gettng their fair share in the business. All the hotels in the South Coast is doing very well but not compensating our work in proper way. Like everyone else we musician too are doing our job and are the stakeholders in economic development in our country. People should understand this’ Sureshni said.
