“I don’t think anyone who is a politician in our country is unfortunate, Bindu…” Bindu’s father Percy said.
“But some are not as lucky as others, thaaththa,” Bindu argued.

The economic recovery and growth in 2010
The Central Bank describes the economic performance of last year as “impressive”. The economy grew by 8.0 per cent according to its Annual Report for 2010. Last year could be characterized as a year of economic recovery and growth. It recovered from the setback suffered in the previous year when the economy reached rock bottom with an economic growth of only 3.5 per cent.

Thumbs up for ‘Mixie-grinder elections’!
After the New Year Mrs Anumaana had been talking to her neighbours, and they all seemed to be saying the same thing. They were all broke. With the skyrocketing cost of living, expenses involved in meeting the social obligations of the festive season had left some in debt. It was bad enough having a fuel price hike sneaked past them while they were distracted with the World Cup Final not so long ago.
