Today in this competitive business world a formal qualification of a recognized Degree / MBA plays a very important role in enhancing the productivity of the staff of the business establishments. The knowledge of the staff makes a positive difference in achieving its business goals. Also it makes them confident in carrying out their responsibilities towards the development of the business.

When you think about the degree or an MBA there are few important factors you have to consider before registering for a programme.

Indira Gandhi National Open University, Delhi, India has offered all of the above criteria in their Degree / MBA programmes.

In 1985 the Indira Gandhi National Open University ( IGNOU ) was established by an Act of Indian Parliament. It has committed itself to excellence in teaching, scholarships, research and public service. Upholding the philosophy of education, knowledge and skills for all, the university offers appropriate educational opportunities for learners from a variety of backgrounds, qualifications and age groups.
Since IGNOU was established, it has emerged as the largest Mega University in the democratic world. It started with offering two academic programmes in 1987, Diploma in Management and Diploma in Education with a strength of 4528 students. Today it serves the education aspirations of nearly 2.8 million students in 36 countries through the 21 universities of study and a network of 59 regional centres with more than 2300 study centres.

INGOU offers the most affordable fee structure for the SAARC country students. For them it would cost 30% of what it would cost a non SAARC country student. The features of IGNOU cannot be matched with any other MBA / Degree and those have become the most affordable yet most recognized for Sri Lankan students. These MBA / Degree programmes are approved by the University Grants Commission of Sri Lanka.

IGNOU MBA course will cost you a total of Rs. 195,180/= and you can make the payment in five instalments of Rs. 36,036/= for each semester. (a semester is 6 months) Accordingly the monthly investment will be Rs. 6,006/=. The IGNOU Degree programme will cost you a total of Rs. 84,531/= and you can make 3 instalments of Rs. 28,177/= for each year.

In Sri Lanka IGNOU programmes are offered in Gampaha at the Regent International Institute for Higher Studies (RIIHS) and in Colombo at the British College of Business Studies. IGNOU Colombo and Gampaha Study Centre both offer the MBA in major streams such as HRD, Finance, Banking, Operation and Marketing. The eligibility criteria is a recognized University Degree or a professional qualification from a recognized professional body. (MIMA, ACCA, CIM, Law, IPM or any other Engineering, Finance, Marketing or Banking body ).

Also it offers B.com / BA degrees in Accountancy, Finance, Economics, Public Administration or Corporate Affairs. Eligibility criteria for B.Com / BA is 3 A/L passes (Local or London ) or IGNOU BPP ( Bachelor’s Preparatory Programme ).

For all the programmes, the course materials and the counselling / lecturer sessions will be provided free of charge.
